CORVETTE

The Corvette is one of the most iconic American sports cars.  Chevrolet has produced eight design generations, C1-C8, over the Corvette’s nearly 70-year history.  After starring in the early 1960s TV show Route 66, the Corvette became synonymous with freedom and adventure, and has become the most popular sports car in history.  The first Corvette was introduced late in the 1953 model year as a show car and there was enough interest that Chevrolet decided to make a production model, which it introduced for the 1953 model year.  Chevrolet produced 300 Corvettes in 1953, but only sold 183 of them.  Most recently, Chevrolet introduced the C8, its first mid-engine Corvette.
