The high performance division of Ford, Ford Performance is epitomized by its slogan for the introduction of the Flathead V-8, the first affordable eight cylinder engine available to the public: “Everyman’s power for the road, and Everyman’s power for racing.” Over the years, Ford Performance has brought its racing prowess to the masses, frequently producing tuned versions of Ford production vehicles, but also occasionally developing completely independent models, such as the Ford GT.
