LAMBORGHINI
Automobili Lamborghini was established in 1963 by manufacturing magnate Ferrucio Lamborghini with the explicit purpose of building a super sports car to compete with Ferrari. The first engine Lamborghini ever produced was a V12 and was designed by Giotto Bizzarrini, who had designed many of Ferrari’s engines. That engine became Lamboghini’s flagship until it was discontinued after the Murcielago in 2010. In 2011, a second-generation V12 was designed for the new Aventador, which remains the company’s vaunted V12 to this day.
